Glug Bristol presents: By Hand

  • Nick Hand
  • Gavin Strange
  • Rosi Tooth
  • Luke Palmer

Join us at The Square Club on Thursday 27th February for an evening dedicated to creativity by hand. Our speakers will be talking about all things handmade—from letterpress to model making, ceramics to painting—as they share their work, stories and journeys of how creating things by hand got them where they are today. And there'll be plenty of time for super-laid back networking, as usual.

Nick Hand. The Department of Small Works.

Nick will be talking about his latest project, Journeyman, where he embarked on a journey from Land’s End to John o’Groats on a bicycle with a printing press on the back, printing all the way from the factories and workshops of British makers.

Gavin Strange. Aardman Animations.

Gavin is back for his second talk at Glug Bristol where he'll be taking us behind the scenes of Turtle Journey, a powerful new animated film that highlights the plight of the world’s oceans, created by Aardman for Greenpeace.

Rosi Tooth. Rosi Illustration.

Rosi’s work challenges society's perception of the female form while also promoting body positivity. She tackles topics surrounding mental health, self-awareness and body image with playful light hearted illustrations and quirky ceramics.

Luke Palmer. Collaborative Painting UK.

Luke will be presenting his journey as an artist, from villain to hero, how he hasn't ended up dead or in prison (as his art teacher predicted) and how the discovery of a forgotten art form changed his life.

This is going to be a strong start to 2020 and we're looking forward to seeing you there!
